I’ve noticed in these types of books (where a cultivator from either a wuxia or xianxia world get transferred to a world similar to feudal European type worlds that have magic) when the magic systems of these worlds use the same base (not necessarily the structure and abilities but what causes those to be able to use these abilities) the Fuax-Euro world tends to have more unrefined techniques, even if the path their taking is rather different from the Fuax-East world, it tends to have a lot of uncut edges and is not very efficient, usually forcing less people to be able to use it and the average power levels to be lower than they could/should be, until the MC of the novel shows up and helps refine the technique a thousand times over. Of course this isn’t to say the Fuax-Euro word always takes unviable paths, usually they’re taking one of the many “correct” ones, they just aren’t doing it completely right. Even when their system has been in place for a long time, the Euro worlds tend to double down on tradition in comparison to the Eastern worlds, even when that tradition is wrong.
