Cutting off the reinforcements makes sense, although I can’t seen to recall why the high level mages wouldn’t be able to create new portals? Or is it related to ancient magic? Resources? There are portals present in each kingdom, so wouldn’t an ultra powerful country be able to create new ones without much of an issue?
MC probably wants to go directly to cronos but since only #2 on front line it means #1 is guarding the emperor(former) keke~
