The narrative is kind of all over the place here. They go into a gate they made themselves. For some reason they meet knight Zerea, MC’s friend. Zerea has a past and present self. In the gate present, his past self died of poison, but we know actually his present self is also dead a long time ago because the gate is like a random replay of the past (again in this case not-so-random). Gate inhabitants are supposed to be NPCs, but present-but-actually-past Zerea knows he is in a gate.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they burned orcs as insence
