Only reason that “muh kill your team” thing is for drama/to drive conflict rather than any logic/good reason nor does it add anything to the story/writing.

I assume he’s so valuable bc the power of the time reversal is somehow inside him or something, so he’s a key or vessel, interesting how the commander uses time magic, and the hero used time magic for the regression, and the dark mage gives out immortal bodies, guess that type of manipulation is the end game
