Why were they able to repel the second onslaught of infected? I mean the second time around they should have had experience dealing with it after all. Or was that baby maybe something special? Since it was actually growing up with the virus and evolving as it became older?
If that is the case… in theory if the baby wasn’t killed back then, it should probably be the strongest infected on the planet. (well other babies that were infected at the same time would be the same, but you get my drift.)
Sadly the way this comic deals with the infected and how the Protagonist never seem to actually try to understand the root of the problem, his solution is always to kill everything he meets.
But a child growing up and becoming aware could become more like a human that was an infected at the same time. Yes, we have already seen all these other monsters that have evolved and are able to think… but they are all just so focused on evolution that they don’t care about anything else.
But what if say an infected baby grey up and evolved, and slowly (since it would work differently than a normal child) it would gain the ability to think and not just be mindless like other infected. If this happened, it could have been cool if it became more like a normal child and perhaps even wondered where it’s mother was? And in a really depressing case it might even remember and realize that it killed her.
But… I guess we would just gets some kind of scene where the protag is lording it over everyone and everything as usual.
I mean, this story is better than most Chinese or Korean stories of the same nature… but it still suffers from it’s protagonists being overpowered Mary Sues that act like complete jerks all the time.
