I like the detail in the world building, especially for the magic. However, there are a few unexplained details. Even if mc is the second in line, why is he locked away in some random annex? If mc’s older brother dies, he’s next in line and should have a befitting education. Second, how does any of what they explained about the magic allow mc to create “self-sustaining” magic that works while he is unconscious? It’s magical magic, and I like logical magic 🙃
