I don’t understand why he would want to turn back time because of that context when he can probably just train his successor and retire as the first “Flame of Flames”. If it was a fear of old age, sure, but here it just looks like he’s a sore loser. It’s explained so vaguely that I don’t understand why they bothered with that introduction scene.
They just let a random kid leave the castle when there are monsters everywhere? What if he was a normal kid and came across that slime and just instantly perished?

Since he says he wants to go back in time to master all elements and not just red, why isn’t he trying attacks with the other elements he has a higher affinity with? Or is the affinity score something he can change through training early? Even then, try out your ability with the other elements just to see if you can ….
