Everyone below is questioning the sudden “power up” but hear this : THERE IS NO POWER UP. The MC IS WEAK, and he stayed weaker than his opponent. It’s his knowledge of the sword moves that helped him gain advantage. Granted, it could be shown better with more exposition of how exactly remembering the sword moves had helped; my best guess is that he counter-attacked between the gap in the sword moves.
Also, on how enduring humiliation and whatnot is better than immediate violent response:
This is fictional, but still based on fantasy version of China. In Asian culture, CASTE SYSTEM IS A HUGE DEAL. They are part of sect nobility, yes, but still they are WEAK. MC IS PROTECTING HIS SECT by playing within the rules, BECAUSE he is still weaker than his opponents. It had been shown that his opponents are scumbags of the lowest tier, and they are powerful and influential enough to back up their arrogance; what if, even though MC wins the duel, said scumbags attack his sect and family “because of the humiliation”? MC can survive alone because he’s the MC and has survival halo, but that would defeat the very purpose of his regression, that is, his sect and family’s survival, no?
i think everyone misunderstanding. Dude has more strength than mc so he was losing head to head. So after mc regained his resolve he just used his memory of the enemies technique to dodge all the attacks perfectly then counter attacked. He never actually got a power up.
this trash is good? way too many plot armor and holes that don’t make sense, loser family and sect making a fool of themselves all over again. way too ambitious of a story but good for self insert boohoo readers i guess? mc has no way out realistically, murim alliance sees mc and his sect and meat shields, demonic sect which we know about sounds like the better option at this point, but mc won’t abandon his sect and his sect is too braindead and brainwashed to leave the murim
this manga sure knows how to tug on every self insert loser around here thus making them so excited and simp over this trash. murim alliance throws him and MCs trash sect to the front line as meat shields, he gets sent to the past so change all that, by how exactly? sure kid has a cheat but the plot armor is on another level. he’s pissed off so many people and gets instant powerups to win every battle. what’s next, will he get strong enough to become the leader of the murim alliance; the very people that threw his useless self and friends to death, or abandon murim and join the demonic sect and get revenge?
Aaah yes, the sudden overwhelming power up and leave a few scratches, If this monkey isn’t missing a limb or more next chapter, I’ll channel my rage to my refrigerator 
Retard story. What do you mean grow stronger? You’re supposed ALREADY strong! Tf is that first half fight? Tf is that sudden “power up” by recalling your past knowledge? Martial art power is not in a book wtf!!

Not sure I like the way how power levels are shown. 1 moment he was losing, then he triggers his knowledge somehow and easily overpowers his enemies with the “same moves”. No explanation of how his knowledge helped his moves, no using of secret breathing methods to improve his strength/speed. Just “knowledge power”.
