Author’s sense of humor is skewed. There’s nothing funny from naming swords as flags and then morphing them to little girls.
I hope Davey can come up with some better nicknames than Reddie and Blueie for the swords. I get that he can’t rename them, but he can give them human nicknames for public use.

Btw, this may or may not be related to why Daphne was like that, but in Greek mythology, Daphne was (I think) a nymph, was chased around by a lovey dovey Apollo (btw not actually the god of sun, just medicine, archery, and poetry). Daphne hated it so much that she basically just became a tree and you could count it as a suicide, become I think a tree of laurels, which was why the laurel wreath was the symbol of the Olympics. Btw, the actual story is actually a lot darker than this (like most told Greek myths),l. I just gave you the kid friendly version.
