Wait wait wait… so if she’s 21 and Mc is 16, isn’t this underage violation? GET BACK WOMAN. SHE EVEN SLEPT BARE NACKED WITH UNDERAGED BOYS 
Her backstory is believable as an intersection between reality and fiction. Having your children fight each other to the death to determine the strongest is certainly within the realm of human motivation, although I can’t imagine how that would work well logistically.
Her reason for vowing to stay by MC’s side is believable, since she likely appreciates what he has which she currently lacks and wants: the mindset to forge his own future regardless of any obstacle in his way.
The story premise was pretty uninteresting and cringe to me, but the believable human interactions in this has drawn my interest more than any premise could.
So she is just a desperated woman, huh?
