I guess I’ll be the third one to nitpick but on top of changing the setting of the scene and how the bet is done, they also changed the end.
on top of winning the bet, he crushed her. while she scored at 550m, he stopped at 900m. Note that he stopped, he didn’t lose. that man intentionally stopped to crush her pride in bows.
and to top it all of, when she asks what did he want when winning the bet, he said that he wanted nothing so that she could come to the conclusion of changing on herself.
that novel while not a masterpiece is great and they screwed it !
They butchered this scene. In the novel, they each get 3 misses. Mc misses 2 shots getting used to the bow while she gloats she’ll win. Then he proceeds to nail shot after shot long after she’s been defeated and drives her to despair through the massive gap in talent.
I don’t want to be that guy but seeing as this is one of my favorite novels, I feel like I deserve to nitpick at this webtoon. This scene was completely rushed, and they lost a lot of details and emotions that the author wrote, especially since this was a turning point for Chae Nayoon as a character. Really sad that they cut everything. If anyone is interested this is Ch. 55-57 in the Light novel.
