You know, when I come back to this manga and reread, MC’s relationship with protag reminds me of Nemona from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet lol. A rival who gives constructive criticism, though in this case MC is just completely unable to be mean despite their best efforts and they just give advice which makes Protag even more emotional and riles her up even more than she would have from the original events, to get stronger and learn well, in order to not just support her family but to have a happy life as well

Willing to bet the game had a bisexual protagonist with some female romance options but he only knew about the game second hand and his daughter didn’t do the female romance routes
