it’s like talking english to an auntie who sell fish that barely speaks any english at all… the name of the fish is butchered before you even buy them…

This is where I furl my eyebrows at translation.
The dialogue of the technicals during her training in the training hall, why she collapsed, how it might have affected her, was quite rough. Instead of wondering why the spell was affecting her badly, she was asking the other mage about *his* health? At least the explanation between the different kinds of mana was clear.
If dialogue is crucial to the telling of the story, it needs to be done better than that.
