Translation aside it looks like another retcon. “Nicky” was the child of the Sun God and had powerful magic early in the story. Now he is incompetant with magic and trying fencing?
This story has a lot of unresolved plot points too. The Bunny with black mana emanating from it and the mystery of the mana in the Black Rose Palace were just kind of abandoned. It also annoys me that she keeps meeting injured characters she supposedly cares about but never heals them despite openly demonstrating healing powers on multiple occasions.
