What bulls-t! Our MC can’t possibly belong to the ‘commoner’ “estate of the realm”. His father is an advanced swordsman… who owns an estate and all. The MC can only be ‘nobility’ – no other options are possible.
Now he can be new nobility like the “junker nobility” – someone coming from a bloodline that’s been elevated to nobility for meritous service instead of ancient titled lieages. And indeed historically there had occasionally been some tentions between new and old nobility. But that wasn’t ever significant since be it old or new nobility – they are the same “parasite class” and are in the same boat all in all.

Quite weird that he is called commoner, although he is from swordmanship house, which holds somewhat of nobility 🤔 surely not a mage house, but house itself still there
