I really dislike it when a seemingly mindless animal, is revealed to actually have sentience. Why even bother, if all they’re meant to be in this story, is meat?
That’s the equivalent of eating dolphins, or squids, after learning how bafflingly intelligent they are. It’s just needlessly confusing.
That being said, with these stories, I’d rwther think it’s D&D: They are Evil, in the DNA, so
no need to rhink about it.
