I suppose it is the safest way to reject the proposal…
this way, he won’t keep pestering him to join since MC told him he has a different philosophy, so they can’t really work together.
And MC can’t just tell them they can’t join because of the assassins going after them, since this would create a situation where the alliance will be pushing the invite even more to protect them, which in turn also endangers the whole alliance, which MC and co don’t want.
