He can’t even he blamed, as a father. He held onto her with his broken arm, his other arm was shot with several arrows, and he should’ve been in so much pain and never dropped her. With both arms the way they were, pulling her up wasn’t possible, and he even ended up being the last survivor and regressed for her. I would regress for the sole purpose of monopolizing stuff not for my daughter, but who knows I don’t know what it’s like to have a daughter
