It was too good to be true
I’m pretty sure it’s because he now sees you as his sister, and that’s how he is with his sister. His sister said that she raised him and raising him could be like how an assassin raises their own kids via endless fighting. Most likely he developed a dual personality, his normal kind self and the S-rank hunter that his sister created. Honestly not the best decision to influence someone with dual personality, because you may have signed up for a good personality but you’re more likely to deal with the second. He lost the draw on this one. Now Dio is gonna be nice to everyone except the MC and his sister.
So i can see 2 reasons this happed:
1.- Pavlov Condition Reflex , He found the Trigger word that her sister plan on him in order to keep him safe if Danger is near.
2.- PTSD, Balming again the sister 
if any one other than her sister say the Trigger phrase, he will do a selfdefence stance so they dunt abuse him . 
Yeah, your influence makes others see you in a positive light and want what’s best for you.
However, what is best for you may differ from people to people. For example, a complete psychopath may see you in a friendly way … but he loves to kill his friends because that’s what’s best for people, being dead right ?
