I thought this man’s goal was to see the limits of the magic of this Era. Why is he making theories and judging the magic based on inexperienced students?
Just go to the biggest, tallest, fanciest building and demand to see someone important. Gather information of the strongest mages in this time, and seek them out. Then, boom. You have knowledge of the current world’s level of magic. No need for speculation.
It’s not like his magic decreased at all when he hopped to the future. Or at least he hasn’t said anything about it yet.
