Either the romantic past of his parents are dark..or not, what if his father is a decent person that fell inlove with her mother when she got caught. As we know the maternal side also has conflict inside, as a spoil of war she was probably considered dead but despite that she still probably cared for her family. And his father was maybe forced to participate in war (since his a vice comander or smth) by getting threatened by the higher ups that they will kill his wife if he didn’t follow the command. Then he had no choice but to comply but that might’ve caused the reason why she went astray And went somewhere far because of that. ( Since she couldn’t go back to her clan because she was already pregnant with the enemies child)
