I don’t know why he did this. From MCs point of view, he just randomly killed like 100 people. Revenge is indeed due, but I’d personally just poison the muscle lady and not kill everyone. From what we’ve seen so far, MC isn’t murder hungry and he tries to be logical. Is it not suspicous if an army camp gets completely destroyed? Now their leader is probably gonna investigate this. Just more unnecessary hassle he’d have to deal with it. Weird writing from the author.
