Why is the skull calling its apprentice He/Him? Shouldn’t it be She/Her? It was clear in the first chapter the apprentice was a real beauty but the translators use He/Him, like wtf?

I mean the skull feels like a man maybe translator don’t give a shit….but what is this story bouncing here and there….adventure?? where to ??? for what ?
