Is this one of those “ladies there is enough c*ck for both of you” situations? I hope not, because this can be an excellent excuse for world building:
A: Follow traditional pop culture of elemental conflict. MC will have forgotten those rules or just not know them, and it turns out summoning two different elements fight each other. The twist here is it is not from the elemental differences but fighting over loyalty.
B: MC has insufficient summoner skill. The Valkyrie or the demon are too powerful to corporate with any other intelligent summon because MC does not have the experience working with summons.
C: esoteric woo bulls*hit: both their spheres are fertility, thus causing an influence conflict.
