Rolf has had lots of sword practice and has a legendary weapon, but was still defeated pretty handily by an expert swordsman. Elsa got her power negated by accident when her wrists were bound with the gloves on. The last minute save came from people who were following their attackers in order to find the MCs. It all makes sense, I love it. Much better than I expected from the first chapter.
