no way they need like 15 people and the other guy took one of them out on a 1v1
DM : you are in a narrow corridor, your teammates are surrounding you. In front of them are some enemies. What do you do?
Mage : I cast fireball
DM : ffs
A failing of this is the author refusing to focus the story. He legit wants to go back and forth between the MC and the other candidates, like their stories are just as important. The Shield Hero story, the one about him being falsely accused of SA and leaving them, wasn’t cutting back every other episode to find out how the other characters in his hero party were doing bc, A. It would distract from the central story, bc, B. The story was going somewhere, and C. The audience doesn’t care at the end of the day. Unless they dovetail the stories and the MC and his former party work together again, why does it matter. Yes, one bully wants to get stronger to get revenge. It’s a lot more impactful if there’s a passage of time and he shows up with more powers and trickier to deal with, than if you watch his entire journey like half the story is his.
TLDR; Unfocused.

So… are they gonna kill him or will they fight him and he will be able to retreat heavily injured…? 
Let me guess and this is a wild guess here although a bit cliche too 🤔. It’s either they win and someone on their side betrays the hero candidates or…someone dies in the process of fighting one of the four heavenly demons 🤣.

I wonder if the reason the original heros died is because the higher ups also had overconfidence in them and treated them like invincible weapons
