These MC’s are never able to come up with a plan when a female comes around. All you need to be the greatest sword fighter is teh Haste spell. be able to jump in land a blow and jump out, will win the day even if your technique is lacking. It is a different story for a beginner, but it has already established he was with a sword master for his entire childhood so he is by no means “week”.
Just like Caiaphas Cain from the Warhammer 40K novels. Downplays himself constantly while making jokes at his own expense about how terrible he is with a sword….. Than defeats a Word Bearer Captain in a one on one duel…. Just roll my eyes when after that he continues to downplay himself.
