They made that girl too unlikable through her actions. Her being so casually redeemed and forgiven feels cheap. Additionally her angry, bitter, and “fuck you” personality flipped on a dime since he’s stronger than her. We got a sad backstory but it’s not enough since everyone and their mother has them.
Imagine if instead we saw her flashing back to memories of him being weak, and had her inner thoughts monologuing about how she treated him like trash in a twisted way of “protecting him” by stopping him from getting killed by becoming a level 0 adventurer.
