I hope (and assume) that as this goes on he will become more of a swordsman and less of an assassin. Needle and this sword are both based around less head on combat.
I guess needle wasn’t but it was still designed more like a rapier so its only really a stabbing tool. I get that this is all based on his current skill level and his physique and as he grows it should change
