the character building in this manga gives a certain melancholy when the characters are killed… what amazing worldbuilding

How does she tell? There don’t seem to be any gaps letting light in. Or air. If there were they would have been found out even in the most superficial scan.
But if there isn’t, especially with two persons, they would be dead within an hour. Probably way less. CO² poisoning. (No, I don’t mean CO poisoning, CO² also is quite poisonous.)
