Wait let me write my thoughts down so they don’t confuse me.

Unyielding spirit: indominable will makes you immortal as long as you do not fear death. I thought he doesn’t fear death because he has developed a constant will to die. But this girl said that deep down he refuses death, and that that is the reason the skill activates.

Ridiculous as it seems, I think she’s right. He went through this terrible life of nothing but pain, and yet has not once tried to end his life (I think the car stuff was insurance fraud, a plan thought up by his parents). Then his mental resilience is incredibly strong and through his refusal of death doesn’t fear it, activating the skill.

This was my attempt at organising my thoughts and making sense of the information given in this chapter.
