Summary
A brief description of the manhwa The Ultimate Tank:
Shoya Ohno, a tank affiliated with the Japan Hunter Administration Bureau, is a man shrouded in mystery. He was drawn to the straightforward personality of Eda, the director of the Bureau, and despite receiving an extraordinary offer from the United States, he turned it down to continue operating in Japan for his own personal reasons.
In truth, Shoya is a survivor who, ten years ago, was abducted to the otherworldly continent of Azelan. Despite enduring unimaginable suffering, he managed to return to Earth alive. To protect the Earth and to rescue his friends who were abducted just like he was— Shoya continues to fight. And once that goal is fulfilled…
He will rise to confront the continent of Azelan, which seeks to annihilate humanity on Earth through its gate invasions. Thus, Shoya sets his plan into motion.

The Cliche of MC being innately good at a point that it might sound like an innocent child deserves to have 5star because it gets rarer this days becuase of being perceived as hypocritical character. But this innate kindness of the MC has also a dark story behind: kind yet grieving, strong but not strong enough, and a tanker that hates casualties. The MC is a typical stoic: kind, self sacrificing and concern in which I think a good moral example.
This webtoon would have been so much better without the op MC trope that was made very popular with other titles, such as solo leveling. The MC is Epic level, while others are stuck at a level cap since they don’t have access to a dimensional door to another “real” plane of existence. Instead, other NPC fight artificially created dungeons to protect earth against disasters. The MC is better than 50 of earth best “Hunters”. I think the story would have been better if the MC wasn’t at Superman level of power. The tension is not there since he is just better than the best and the only thing that is danger for him is deities, legendary epic monsters, and cosmic threats or other godly existences… Still, the story is great and worth reading, but the ridiculousness of the world building and lack of tension stops it from being a masterpiece. Also, telling the story from the middle, where the MC is already at peak strength, robs us from the heroes journey.
Just amazing! Love me a strong righteous MC…. Truly interesting the background of MC, his mission, source of power… Mysteries and action… Just perfect 👌
It’s good!
Description says Manhwa(Korean) but SFX inside is clearly Japanese….
