Did pandemonium attack his disciple, because he wasn’t around, because they believe they could get away with it, even if he did come back, or did they believe the assassination wouldn’t be connected with them? It seems like the mc already had a connection with them, and the mc was one of the strongest people around from the sounds of it, probably not the strongest then, but can definitely be when he regains his strength, and can devour abilities
