So, as a lady-in-waiting… her job is to stand around all day in high heels holding a jewelry box that her mistress may not even use? Setting aside the fact that it’s an enormous waste of time, it’s also completely degrading. I understand that this isn’t the MC’s fault and this is just how that society developed, but I can’t help but feel a little bad for Aubrey here. I know she is spoiled, and what she did is by no means excusable… but that’s just the way I feel about it.
