For a comic who all about strategy and subtleties of power I don’t get how they keep getting the hierarchy do wrong.
A lady in waiting first must be noble.
Let’s say she’s technically reinstating their family.
So Fiona role works however not Mel’s.
The Duke needs to appoint a steward approved by and who served on the counsil. Usually and old geezer with exp.
A lady in waiting of a duchess has absolutely no authority to be a steward of duchy wth ?
A lady in waiting is a young noble maiden who’s litteraly a lady’s playmate and personal assistant.
Meaning accompanying on trips, parties, selecting wardrobes, doing her hair etc.
