Summary
A brief description of the manga The Wailing Ghost Retired ~Strongest Party Training Technique by the Weakest Hunter~
The golden age of treasure hunters who seek wealth, honor, power and glory, and explore dungeons around the world without regard to the danger.
“Lets be treasure hunters,” said Cry Andolihy, who swore an oath with his childhood friends to become the strongest … but he discovered during his first quest that he has no talent.
But that was only the beginning of his adventure.
“I can’t do this anymore. I want to quit.”
“Oh, I see. In other words, we should fight harder and cover for you, that’s a good handicap.”
“Rest assured, Cry. We’ll protect you!”
“Oh, wait. If you step on that, the trap will destroy you without leaving a speck of dust behind. Be careful, Leader!”
Protected by his overpowered childhood friends, sought out by newbies and nobles, they aim to be heroes and find powerful treasures.
Will Cry really be able to retire safely from being a Treasure Hunter?

I’ve read only 15 or so chapters but I’m writing a stand-in review since no one else has written one: This manga has very similar vibes to Eminence in Shadow, albeit with some notable differences. The manga seems to subvert the trope where an OP or super-intelligent MC is beset by a major inferiority complex or impostor syndrome but appreciated by those around him because he is in fact the brains or the true backbone of his team. In this manga though, MC’s thinking of himself as a weak and talentless individual is 100% accurate, and while he’s thought of as a “master strategist” who only “plays dumb” to throw people off, the reality is that his decisions are nothing more than a series of incredible flukes that work out against all probability. He’s constantly getting carried by his monstrously strong teammates who’ve somehow created a self-fulfilling myth around him that’s taken on a life of its own with the passage of time…
The writing seems to be very tongue-in-cheek from what I can tell, but translations so far (on this site at least) don’t really do the writing justice and in some cases it’s hard to even make out what actually was said, let alone appreciate the wit of the original writing.
This is so convoluted
Anime are already finish but this shi still going with this mask arc.
does anyone know what chapter the anime leaves off on?
When the next episode be written the mangga was good waiting for the next episode
I feel like they all have a single Stat which is OP. STR, INT, etc. as for our dear Leader, his is Luck, he just doesn’t know it xD
anime was so funny its like that manga weakest but guild master of the strongest guild (or something i forgot the exact title)
How cow, this is the first time I seen 3 new chapters came up in short time then waiting for months
Im so happy after reading this manga and both the light novel and raw novel for the past few years, it finally has an anime
Anime for this just dropped
7.5/10
5/10
So I take it this series got dropped by the translators. I mean it’s a little over 4 months and not new chapters have been uploaded since 3/15 which was the last time it got uploaded.
Now thats a comeback…

I got through 26 chapters so far, and much of the time, there was a tantalizing sense that things were about to be interesting, but they never were. Built around a “Get Smart” premise of an MC who is the top dog in a dangerous organization but frequently has little idea what’s going on and who is repeatedly successful through mostly dumb luck.
Unfortunately, there’s very little comedy, the wacky characters and nearly impossible situations are played completely straight. The author seems to think that as long as the readers don’t understand what’s going on, it’s a mystery, and he’s Agatha Christie. Alas, confusion and omission are not mystery, and superbeings casually disintegrating every threat on sight isn’t adventure. This should have been a comedy, and the setup had potential, but I don’t recommend.
Summary: Reasonably competent adventurer MC is surrounded by hypercompetent monsters who consider him a genius, because his suggestions always work out. He knows he isn’t a genius and wants to retire from the increasingly dangerous work, but he’s too afraid of his coworkers to say so.
