I want to like this story guys, I really want to. But man is this vocabulary unnecessarily convoluted.
Authors keeps using words and giving them other meanings, making it very unintuitive to follow.

Come on, just call him Justin, Dave, Bobbie or something. How is this word salad supposed to make any sense even considering there’s a title and a status thrown in the middle? A caravan is a bunch of dudes and camels, not a name

MC was ‘thrusting’ with his fingers alone before even meeting the old man. A little consistency would go so far in this story.
