Completely in denial, assuming an 8 year old little girl making sexual innuendo jokes to a hypothetical harem MC and take that as “awww its just cute stuff. Its a comedy!!”

But its the last group that your betters do it for. These few people arent pedos but have an unnatural affinity to this media they read, to the point that they will begin to be attracted to little girls.
