I wouldn’t call infinite respawns immortality. Especially when he took a moment to realize what had even happened, like he loses a part of himself every time he reincarnates.
Setup for him to suffer a fate worse then death. If he dies too much he probably would lose himself completely.

So since he still feels it and it’s apparently extremely unpleasant, they key is probably to just keep killing him until he stays dead willingly. Basically, torture him to death lol
