The World After the Fall - Chapter 240
Comments for chapter "Chapter 240"
NOOOOOOOO!!! How can they do this to us!?! This cliffhanger is absolutely horrid and despicable!
Well, back at loving it again
Thanks and good day
At last something I can understand
To understand why Jaehwan rises back up after Mulack tries to kill him, we have to look at how the power system in this universe actually works.
What is the “Sixth Stage of Transcendence”?
Throughout the series, power isn’t about magical energy or physical strength; it’s about a person’s Worldview (their core belief, ideology, and how they perceive reality).
The System (Big Brother/Mulack) wants everyone to believe that the universe is just a preprogrammed machine in which individuals don’t matter.
Jaehwan has spent millions of years fiercely rejecting that, using his “Aura” and thrusts to pierce through illusions.
When Jaehwan hits the brink of death in Chapter 240, he begins questioning the “Sixth Stage.” This stage isn’t just a level-up or a stronger sword strike—it is a complete, fundamental shift in his reality.
Why does questioning it allow him to rise back up?
When Mulack strikes him down, Jaehwan undergoes a profound realization about what it means to transcend the system truly:
1. Breaking the Final Illusion: Up until now, Jaehwan has been fighting the System from the inside, trying to smash it. But the ultimate realization of the Sixth Stage is realizing that the System only holds power over you if you recognize its rules.
2. “I Think, Therefore I Am”: By questioning his own existence and what it means to be human in that exact moment of absolute defeat, Jaehwan detaches himself completely from Mulack’s control. He realizes that his own naked will and consciousness are completely separate from any “status window,” “tower,” or “system” Mulack created.
3. The True Meaning of Ouroboros / The Fall: He accepts the absolute weight of “The Fall”—the idea of living in a harsh, un-programmed reality completely on his own terms.
When he rises back up, he isn’t using the system’s power anymore. He has reached a stage where his own mind and Worldview are rewriting the space around him. He is essentially telling Mulack: “Your system says I should be dead right now, but my reality says I am standing.”
It’s a heavily philosophical moment where absolute stubbornness meets cosmic awakening. He literally “reboots” his existence out of pure defiance.
The entry was peak 📈👌✨
To die in order to live,
what sublime fortune is this
To live in order to die,
what sheer folly is thisLive alone, like a solitary tree
And live together,
like a forestClinging to hope,
I have lived my life with utter abandon,
just as I have loved you
Faiz (translated)
Mullark just is pure evil, the worst kind of evil that thinks it’s doing right thing so cares nothing for lives that it tramples on. No redeeming someone that fargone that cares nothing for others and consumed by ignorance.
Kinda like when Yhwach shatters Ichigos true bankai, lol
Да что опять. Вшатай ему уже
I’ll cheer for Mullark. Without question.
This modern day sentiment of priding yourself on your own ignorance, scowling at insightfulness & nuance and this reinvigorated belief in ‘physical might makes right’ is troubling. Reminds me of the Juggernaut meme where he uses his head to break through every wall. He doesn’t use his head to find a more efficient way or creative answer around these walls, he simply *uses his head* to break through them and ends up completely running passed the person he was trying to catch.
lowkey confused but peak
So if I understand properly, you can reach the proof stage:
- accepting the signifiance of the greater idea (universe and system), at the price of other existences deaths’
- accepting the significance of existence of an individual through his own death
All the Big Brother’s until now chose the 1st option, becoming cogwheels for the ‘greater good’, but MC chose the second option, acknowledging the siginificance of life of an individual over the system.
So Mullark is now something above existance, nicely demonstrated that even the strongest existence is nothing to him, I would gues now that Jaehwan is now something under existance? Maybe?
Nice

Honestly, i was gonna say. Btw, someone asked about the story earlier and i said his awakening level was at theory but it was already at proof. My b whoever that was. Im dumb
