Why no ‘Auto-Recovery HP’ as skill… thats a lifesaver
Well. I have good news for you! It wasn’t a dog, it was some kind of monster. If it was an ordinary dog, he wouldn’t have gained XP from it. Ergo, it was some kind of malevolent entity from the monster realm! Good news! No innocent doggos were harmed!

Good use of item box. Since humanity weaponizes everything, from toothpicks to hairspray, my first assumption with “spatial warehouse” skills would have been to item box your opponent’s organs into it, but crushing your opponent with a literal dishwasher has a lot more impact.
In case this is an interesting concept for fellow readers to look into, there is a “Skeleton Soldier Couldn’t Protect the Dungeon” webcomic that does attempt to weaponize his item box by using it as impenetrable cube/windows, and a Fallout-themed “I Have a Mansion in the Post-apocalyptic World” webnovel where a guy tries storing a super mutant in it to get rid of a problem. In the second example, he eventually just stores explosions in it.
Now that is a creative use of item box.
why did mc have dog food in his item box……I for one didn’t see a dog (that he owned)
Skills I would have taken instead: (in that order)
- Sense hostility (well, duh)
- Concealment (I am the danger in the night)
- Auto recovery HP (stay alive longer)
- Swordsmanship (I don’t want to decapitate myself in a critical failure)
- Body strengthening (me strong more good, uga)
- Item box (usually level 1 is crappy and not that op)
- Thick skinned (maybe a swap with auto recovery)
- Sense danger (might come in handy, but for now I don’t expect traps)
- Load carrying (as a plan before getting item box and discovering that I don’t need it, as item box is op)
- Whatever I think, in that moment when I get it, is needed from the list of resistant skills.
