What’s wrong with monke being eaten or not in this comment section? 
I’m really enjoying the banter between these two.
People mostly seem to think gold is valuable because it’s shiny and yellow these days.
While the aesthetics certainly help, it’s true value lies in it’s workabilty, so it it can be shaped relatively easily, and it’s decay resistance so it doesn’t rot over time from air, water, mold, etc.
For most of history, if you wanted something to last the ages, you made it out of gold.
The orcs might be have access to an ancient reliquary where there are many valuables not just heavy ones.

I laughed pretty good when he stepped out of the dust cloud, shirt blown to shreds and asked if he knew this would happen. The MC can be irritating but at the same time it’s in a humorous way so I keep hoping things go his way. Now he’s the MC so of course they will.
Instead of building a some kind of cold storage it would have been better to teach basic preservation techniques like drying the meat first. Things like these annoy the hell out of me in these “MC reincarnates and solves problems with modern knowledge” when things that were discovered before we learned to build houses are not in use in the new world. It’s about as annoying as there being no basic technology but somehow things like clear glass or white standard sized paper exist.
