Him criticizing the commentary for looking down on laborers is just gold. Well, turning it around so the commentary seems to look down on laborers, and then criticizing is more correct I suppose.

15 years is a bit much according to my math (skip to end for results if your not interested in the process).
I first will account for the fact that a 4 year old is not messing with the fire by subtracting 14 years from his 50 years old example (from 15 seconds of intense research i have deduced that most europe medieval nations had 14 as their adult age). this leaves us with 36 years of spending two hours a day messing with a fire. 36 years is 13,140 days. 13,140 times 2 for total hours spent is 26,280 hours spent adjusting a fire.
That is 1,095 days or exactly three years of your life spent on a fire. what would you pay for three years of life?
