By the way, some games actually have leveling systems like this. Depending on how it plays, the system can actually be really fun.
It’s really enjoyable to see lots of levels coming in over and over and watching big numbers get way bigger.
On the other hand, it can be a slog to play if it’s not implemented well. Leveling too much or too fast can quickly kill the enjoyment of each level up.
I’ve noticed that a few of the games that do implement leveling systems like that can easily have the level be quantified in significantly smaller numbers, but then less people ply them because less level up notifications ~ yada yada.
