There are two kinds of frustrating ‘twists’, one kind is frustrating because it follows all the traditional tropes. This is annoying for the reader but it can be understandable that the protagonists don’t see the problem coming since it’s mostly about narrative tropes rather than what the characters might reasonably see or expect.
But then we have the other type where the protagonists seem to be idiots. I say this because they came in knowing that people seem to disappear here for an extended period yet don’t show any kind of caution with the townsfolk. The person they encounter makes multiple suspicious or odd slips in comment or behavior. Even assuming that the MC is too smitten to notice the others have been shown to be fairly level headed comparatively and would have had time to compare notes or mention ‘hey, this girl is acting weird and making strange statements.’
Cliches can be really annoying but what makes me more irritated here is that it feels like everyone had to be an idiot as well as refusing to communicate to make this plot happen the way it did.
I’m literally shaking right now I’m trembling I’m in utter shock I never thought that this would be the outcome I don’t know what to do anymore it was such a shocking revelation that I can’t move my body at all I’m stuck my body is stiff and my muscles are stiff and something else is stiff because she got that fr I cant possibly comprehend the thought proccess this author has and I simply cannot begin to imagine whatever next exciting new plot twist could possibly happen there was absolutely no prior mention of this happening and it was such an unexpected plot twist that fits perfectly in the story whoever invented this fate must be a mastermind of a writer I’m literally crying and peeing right now there’s so much gamer gunk everywhere I’m creaming I’m crying I looked at her for one second and my blood just left my body and heart my erect and my balls are churning I’m cant stop I’m so scared at this outcome this sudden unexpected outcome made my fight or flight senses activate and in life threatening situations your body activates your need to reproduce because you may die I’m dying I couldn’t possibly predict that this would happen that I can’t I just cannot my mind I breaking and I simply cannot continue there is no possible way of knowing what comes next please help I can’t take it anymore I’m trembling in fear and I’m crying and I’m pissing and I’m shitting and I’m cumming and I’m sweating and I’m leaking all sorts of fluids
