The talk about laws, justice and standing up against unjust laws is very interesting good and important.
But the setting is so strange, to utilise it as an argument for harsher sentencing is missing the point. It has nothing to do with judments being to lenient, but who is judged against who is protected and who are discriminated against.
Also this idea that prison inmates should not be tread humanely and to use prison as a personal revenge is not good for society. If we allow for some people to be treated inhumanely that opens up for other groups being treated that way. We need to protest such views and stop that from happening if we want to be treated as humans ourselves.
