Wow, what a tantrum. Yell and smash the artifact of time travelling, body-snatching powers that had nothing to do with the accident. Also, protagonist cares more about justice/revenge than making sure his father can be medically treated.

Flat fines are a great example of that built-in inequality. Rich or poor, you speed and you pay $100 — an amount only the rich can pay without worry. With enough money, you can even stall a civil case until your opposition goes bankrupt from legal fees. That’s how a lot of companies get away with crimes they are obviously guilty of.
