Overly enthusiastic Elf geeking out over dragons is surprisingly relatable to me. Not that I feel like the elf, but that I feel like I know (and like) people like that. People who are enthusiastic about their interests are cool.

I think I would get along with the gild master as a fellow dragon lover, BUT he even seems obsessed to me and I dream about, wear, and collect info about dragons in stories from around the world.
