Seriously? The damsel in distress trope? I thought this would be better.
She WANTS to follow her brother’s example, but doesn’t want to die for a world that shi7s on that idealism. So she sticks with her Dad’s ways, even though she finds it distasteful. She gets that strength is the only way to change the systems she’s surrounded by, but doesn’t see “strength of character” as real; since she idealizes character as lofty integrity unmoved by worldly necessity. It’s incorrect to see an integrous person pursuing finance as corrupt, as they will apply what they obtain with integrity.
All that to say she’s a well flawed representation of a hunter wishing to be a hero, but not of strong enough mind to fight the current of the world (id est: she’s jaded).
