Wait, it’s quite a long time since I read this part in the novel, so I could be wrong, but I don’t think jack would have been able to/would have trusted himself enough to sleep while touching Hanna, considering he could unintentionally kill her if he lost control of his powers etc.
+ I don’t even know if he CAN touch her without his powers going rampant even if he’s sleeping.
